Octomaniacs: July 2006

Firstly, I wanna say how surprised I was when there were so many people going for pizza lunch! Cause people do comment that we're only united on the front since we're so clique-ish. (eee i dun like the word too, mave.) But I counted, there were 21 people who turned up (not including rizki haha). Imagine, 21 out of 28! And those who didn't come, mostly couldn't make it, not didn't want to :D

s08 so rocks.

Secondly, I'm also really proud of everyone's patience in waiting around for so long, for clearing the plates ourselves, for staying cheerful and for thinking of how to join more tables so all the girls can sit together :)

Thirdly, I had so much fun listening to/talking rubbish. Embarrassing moments, about cheesy things, about scandals- be it real, or speculative or absolutely fake.. -___-" yingkang and michelle? hmmm. interesting =) no wonder gp lesson YK always sit inbetween me and michelle. dun let me sit with her =( hahaha. the love triangle between evelyn samuel and apri? heh.

I guess clique's are inevitable everywhere, as long as the whole class goes out once in a while and talks to each other not only our own clique, that's absolutely great to me =) oh, and i'll bring back the past for awhile. I still remember my first day in s08, being alone and without any other s07ner with me.. I really resented being in s08 despite telling myself to be open and make friends.. I really resented my choice to take lit instead of continuing with FM..

But the elits and their hospitality and their friendliness made me feel welcome, especially xh, mave, nani and sq and the fact they let me hang out with them even though they were from s22 except me. Their love for lit was infectious and made me not regret my choice in changing my subject combi.

S08 was friendly, funny, witty and engaging. People like bimbos, the guys who we always question their manhood (heh), nj046 and every single one in s08 made the days spent since 1st April so fun, and kept me from ponning school (oops) cause of how I thot I can see all the nice people in s08 everyday =)

Now, I'm really really REALLY glad things turned out the way they are, i'm glad I changed combi, I'm glad i'm not in s07 anymore... cause of all the wonderful people i got to meet in s08! YOU GUYS! (or should i say YOU GIRLS! :p )

kidding bout the girls kay. all the guys in our class are wonderful GUYS too.

haha. dunno how this entry got so personal. was supposed to talk bout s08 but ended up talking bout me. sorry.

I can't wait for all of us to go to ms ling's cocktail =) We shall take a chio chio picture of her and post here then okay? Then she won't complain bout her KM picture :D

P.S: Thanks for letting Rizki come along, it meant alot to me, especially that day. Elits would know why =)

Half Day @ Pizza Hut

Hi Ms Ling,

Our class went to pizza hut today after the half day for luNch.

Since the workers were short-handed, we decided to take initiative and help clear up the tables ourselves. Definitely a good quality exemplified by NJCians. =)

Interacting with one another is a great example to show that we have good time management while waiting for the food to be served. (Though we still think taking our tutorials out to do is the best way to spend time)

This is the cheesy lava pizza or whatever you call it. We still take the time off to calculate the area of this pizza. The equation (PIE)r² never leaves our mind.

We are 90% confident that these meals will make our stomach 80% full.

Ermmm... there's 5!/5 types of arrangement for the guys to sit around this table.

From this picture, we can see that out of 16 sample octos, 15 are smiling.
(i) Estimate the percentage of all(28) octos smiling during a photo taking session from this sample.
(ii) Calculate the 98% confidence limits for this estimate.
(iii) What is the smallest sample size would have to be taken in order to estimate the percentage to within 0.5%? Comment on the feasibility of the sample size.

well what's the latest news. ms ling reads our class blog! [quote] "don't know what octopus something. don't think your teachers never read what you all write". [unquote] haha! imagine our shock. well she might not be the only one. and does that mean teachers read our personal blogs too. that's not her main point. her main point was the blurred photo in the etude entry which has since been removed. haha!

when ms ling said she reads our blog and commented on our unity and bond, some would beg to differ. it's just the appearance, perhaps. we may not be super united and bonded, but at least everyone has harmless mild characters(weird description). i'm just trying to say, everyone's generally very nice and caring people. there're more extreme ones like nani(so she claims), and YINGKANG, and a couple of others, but there're no conflicts of sorts. we all have a closer group of friends we enjoy being with (aka cliques- but i detest that word), but there's just something that makes us want to sit together on the same table during lunch, and for majority of us to want to turn up for an impromptu pizza lunch. rock on s08! to sherin, soks, charmaine, yingkang, huixian, junjie, pris who couldnt make it - we missed your presence!

well there's a 95% confidence interval that ms ling will visit our blog. so here's the evidence statement:

ms ling invited us for cocktail before her wedding dinner starts!! which falls on the very same day as our graduation night(aka prom).

27 other classmates aren't enough to make weiting want to go for prom. but one ms ling's making her consider. haha!

remember the chart mrs cheng showed us? everyone shot up only gradually during CT2, then gradually during prelims, and shot up all the way during A's! So i guess that means even if we dun do well getting our results back soon... as long as we've done our best, dun be disheartened okies(:
